We're excited to share some big news - Contented has been awarded Canterbury Trusted status by our local Chamber of Commerce – Business Canterbury. This recognition is a huge achievement for us and highlights our dedication to quality and our strong ties to our local business community here in Canterbury.
We first connected with Business Canterbury (previously known as Canterbury Employers Chamber of Commerce) in mid-2023. We gave a presentation on making AI accessible for their strategic partners and wider members, which caught the attention of CEO Leanne Watson.
She was particularly impressed by our vision and our user friendly branded workspace solution. From there, we've built a great partnership. We've worked closely with their teams in communications, advocacy, and service delivery, supporting their members and becoming part of the Business Canterbury family. It's been an incredible experience that's allowed us to make a real impact on the local business community.
“Business Canterbury not only saw the potential of AI early on, but they also believed in us—a small team in Christchurch with a big vision for transforming how businesses work. Their early support and insights were instrumental in shaping Contented into the platform it is today. So this really feels like a full circle moment." says Lucy Pink, Co-founder of Contented.
When Business Canterbury launched their Canterbury Trusted program, we were excited to be given the chance to apply. It wasn't just another award application process - it was a thorough process to identify truly exceptional businesses.
The vetting process took around two months. It included:
This detailed evaluation focused on every part of our business and we were put under the microscope to make sure we met and exceeded Business Canterbury's high standards.
When we got the news that we'd been accepted and awarded Canterbury Trusted status, our whole team was over the moon. Our Software Engineer Mia had been part of the reference check process and knew how detailed the process had been.
Julian and Kiley from Business Canterbury came to our office to present us with a lovely hamper and our award - a gesture that really drove home how important this achievement is from their perspective as well.
As one of just a few organisations in Canterbury to successfully complete this process, we are proud to show our values of trust, reliability, and human centred processes - values we're committed to upholding in everything we do.
Being Canterbury Trusted isn't just about having a framed award. It's an endorsement of how we do business and what we stand for. For our clients and partners, it means:
This recognition motivates us to keep innovating and making a positive impact, not just in Canterbury, but globally. We're proud to be growing our startup in a community that values and recognises excellence.
For other businesses thinking about going for Canterbury Trusted status, we strongly recommend it- it's a chance to improve your business and engage with the community in a meaningful way.
