We're feeling extra Contented.
Back in 2023, we were setting up Contented and needed a website fast. We weren't designers, we didn't have a brand, and we definitely didn't have time.
AI software generally has one brand. It’s dark mode, robot mascots, agentic flows, and UI that makes you feel like you're hacking into the Pentagon.
It’s all not very Contented. We wanted our brand to feel warm and approachable. So we did what anyone would do: we went to Pinterest, stumbled across a website we liked and tried to replicate it. We quickly designed a brand that was grounded and kept humans at the core.
That brand carried us so much further than we ever expected; through the first 10 customers, then the first 100, the first million in ARR.
It served us well. But we always dreamt of something more.
Today we're excited to share the Contented brand we always imagined, and what it represents.

Do people care about brands?
Big time. When we close out a customer call, the thing people tell us most often about Contented isn't the technology, it's about how it feels. They talk about how the outputs sound like them and the conversation in the room. How wonderful it is to get ideas down on paper, structured, and still make it home for dinner with the kids.
What people love about Contented is the human part.
We worked with Edition in Auckland on this rebrand. Scott, Jodie, Aaron, Pri and the wider team were the right fit because they get tech and the realities of an early-stage SaaS business.
Our brief was simple to say and hard to execute. We wanted a brand that felt like the people who actually use Contented. People having important conversations in coffee shops, on factory floors, in boardrooms, on walks. We wanted something that signalled the kind of company we are and the craft we take seriously.
We also wanted to stop hiding behind AI as a story. AI is the engine; it isn't the point. The point is what comes out the other side.

Our brand story: Human words, shaped by Contented.
The most important work rarely begins on a blank page. It begins in discussion. In experience shared. In ideas spoken out loud.
That's where clarity forms. But clarity alone doesn't travel. Too often, what's said stays in the room. Or it becomes a transcript, reduced to something that feels thinner than the moment itself.
Those exchanges deserve more. Contented exists to carry them further. To take real conversations and shape them into tailored, business-ready outputs that hold context, reflect standards, and stand up to scrutiny. Not generic automation. Not surface-level summaries.
Outcomes that are true to what was said. Documents people can rely on. Actions that move us forward. Because when spoken words are shaped with care, they don't fade. They become knowledge. They build trust. They carry weight long after the room becomes quiet.

A few things you'll notice.
Our new brand celebrates the untapped possibilities of conversation, making visible our belief that spoken words are more than sound particles - they’re catalysts. Remember to update your app to see the latest version.
The Nub: Our new mark is a small, slightly imperfect organic shape. We've been calling it The Nub. The shape is intentionally fluid and a little uneven, because human conversations are too.
The colour palette: Walnut brown, sand and sunshine yellow mean Contented feels grounded with bursts of warmth and energy.
The particles: This is the part of the brand we're most excited about. Contented exists to protect and amplify spoken words, and the visual textures across our products now reflect the movement and beauty of those tiny audio fragments when you put them all together.

What changes for you.
Honestly, the product you log into will look familiar. The work to bring the full brand into our software is happening now and you'll see it roll out across our platform, apps and our outputs.
What won't change is what people tell us they love. The outputs that sound like you. The care in the templates. The fact that we still pick up the phone when something matters.
